Postsecondary Schools

SLGFA’s long-standing relationship with its postsecondary schools enables our staff to provide more individualized customer service, training, and support. SLGFA offers the following products and services for postsecondary schools:

Default prevention
SLGFA's Default Prevention Department provides assistance by making phone calls, communicating via e-mail and fax, and sending letters to borrowers, co-signers, and references in an attempt to resolve the delinquent account. In addition, our website features a number of default prevention tools and tips to aid borrowers in understanding and managing their student loans. In order to prevent defaults, SLGFA offers a number of default prevention initiatives to assist borrowers in understanding and managing their student loans. For schools needing to develop a default prevention plan, SLGFA has developed a toolkit titled The ABC's of Debt Management - Building Blocks for a Successful Default Prevention Plan.

E-Updates
SLGFA offers the free bi-weekly E-Updates, an electronic newsletter. Sign up for E-Updates  to stay updated on new SLGFA products and services and important regulation changes.

Training
SLGFA offers a variety of training opportunities. Upon request, SLGFA also provides specialized training on financial aid and student loan topics or subject matters of interest to postsecondary institutions. Forms, publications, and brochures
You can order free informational brochures and publications for display in financial aid offices. SLGFA publishes brochures on default prevention and student loans. SLGFA also provides entrance and exit counseling materials consistent with federal regulations requirements. Also available for download are deferment forms, interest rate charts, and forms specifically for Direct Loans.
